The book raises questions about who the real monsters are, which made me question my own assumptions. Am I the only one who found myself rooting for the alien characters at times?

The desolate landscapes and survival themes add a haunting backdrop to the story. I’m curious if Butler envisioned this world from the start or if it evolved during writing.
