Was die Meldung enthalten muss
Die Meldung muss das geschützte Werk bezeichnen, das rechtsverletzende Material auf AskAuthor benennen (am besten mit URL), Ihre Kontaktdaten enthalten, in gutem Glauben versichern, dass die Nutzung nicht genehmigt ist, unter Strafandrohung wegen Meineids bestätigen, dass Sie Rechteinhaber oder bevollmächtigt sind, und Ihre handschriftliche oder elektronische Unterschrift tragen. Fehlende Angaben verzögern die Bearbeitung.
Reaktionszeit
Wir streben eine Bearbeitung gültiger Meldungen innerhalb von 24 Stunden an.
Gegendarstellung
Wenn Sie meinen, Ihr Inhalt sei zu Unrecht entfernt worden, können Sie eine Gegendarstellung einreichen. Sie muss das entfernte Material benennen, unter Strafandrohung wegen Meineids erklären, dass die Entfernung ein Fehler war, Ihre Kontaktdaten enthalten, die Zuständigkeit eines US-Bundesgerichts anerkennen und Ihre Unterschrift tragen. Reicht der Beschwerdeführer innerhalb von 10–14 Werktagen keine Klage ein, stellen wir den Inhalt wieder her.

How to File a DMCA Takedown Notice
Your notice must include:
- Identification of the copyrighted work you claim is infringed
- Identification of the material on AskAuthor that you claim infringes your work, with enough detail to locate it (e.g., URL)
- Your contact information (name, address, phone, email)
- A statement that you have a good faith belief the use is not authorized
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf
- Your physical or electronic signature
How to Submit
Email dmca@askauthor.io with subject "DMCA Takedown Notice". AskAuthor currently handles DMCA notices manually by email and does not provide an in-app DMCA form.
Counter-Notification
If you believe your content was removed in error, you may file a counter-notification. Your counter-notification must include:
- Identification of the removed material
- A statement under penalty of perjury that the removal was a mistake
- Your contact information (name, address, phone, email)
- Consent to the jurisdiction of the applicable federal court
- Your physical or electronic signature
We will restore content within 10–14 business days unless the original complainant files a court action.
Repeat Infringer Policy
Consistent with 17 U.S.C. § 512(i)(1)(A), AskAuthor has adopted and reasonably implements a policy providing for the termination, in appropriate circumstances, of accounts of users who are repeat infringers. Users who receive multiple valid DMCA takedown notices may have their accounts suspended or permanently terminated, and any paid subscriptions forfeited, at AskAuthor’s sole discretion.
Misrepresentation Warning
Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material or activity is infringing, or that material or activity was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification, may be liable for damages, including costs and attorneys’ fees, incurred by the alleged infringer, the copyright owner, or AskAuthor, as a result of our reliance upon such misrepresentation. Submit notices and counter-notices only after carefully considering whether the use in question is actually infringing or non-infringing (e.g., fair use).

We respond to valid notices within 24 hours.
