I'm curious whether personal experiences or common writer struggles motivated the emphasis on structural keys. Did the author have a particular breakthrough moment?

There are so many approaches presented, I wonder if readers find it easier to focus on one or combine elements from several. How have others integrated these keys into their own writing?

Most examples seem to lean toward classic narrative arcs. Can these structural principles be adapted for more avant-garde or non-linear stories?
