The concept of sheep acting as detectives is so unique and charming. I wonder what led the author to think of animals as the narrators in a crime story?

Their individual quirks and moral dilemmas made me forget they were animals. Did anyone else find themselves rooting for the flock as if they were real characters?

The magical touches added a layer of whimsy that made the crimes feel more fantastical and fun. I wonder if the story would have worked just as well without those elements?
