The Poisoned King

The creatures felt so unique and imaginative — I wonder if they were inspired by folklore, mythology, or pure invention. Did the author draw from any particular sources or just let her imagination run wild?

There were moments where I wanted more action and less setup, but I also appreciated the world-building. Is this balance something authors plan intentionally?

The story had a whimsical tone but still kept me on the edge of my seat. I'm curious whether that mix was deliberate or evolved during writing.
