The detailed portrayal of hockey life added so much authenticity, but I wonder if the sport played a role in shaping the characters' relationships or was mainly a backdrop.

The tension between the characters felt genuine, and I kept wondering how much of that was the author’s real experience or pure imagination.

The pacing kept me hooked, but I’m curious whether blending these themes was planned from the beginning or evolved during writing.
