Ocean of Storms

The vastness and mystery of the ocean add so much atmosphere but I wonder what inspired the choice to make it central to the plot.

I loved the world-building, but those sections felt a bit slow compared to the action. Was that an intentional choice to build tension?

The way magic interacts with the environment was intriguing and fresh. Curious if this was based on any real-world myths or entirely from the author's imagination.
