The vivid depiction of Victorian London added depth, but I wonder if that slowed the story at times. Was that a deliberate choice to immerse readers more fully?

The characters’ complex motivations kept me guessing about who was truly trustworthy. It made me question what defines right and wrong in a world of gray areas.

The setting feels so authentic and layered, I’d love to know if it’s based on particular events or just a passion for that era’s atmosphere.
