The tension between the eerie atmosphere and unfolding secrets kept me hooked. I wonder if he planned the pacing to gradually build dread or if it evolved during writing.

The emotional depth added a layer of realism to the horror, but it also made me question how much of the fear was internal versus external. Would love to hear others' thoughts.
