The mythology feels so immersive and gritty — I wonder what inspired the darker tone for the Fae realm and its politics.

The tension between attraction and hostility made me think about how love can flourish in even the most hostile circumstances. Would love have felt as intense if the characters weren’t enemies?

The intimacy felt so raw and visceral — I’m curious whether the author aimed for a particular emotional effect or if that developed naturally during writing.
