I'm curious if the author has a legal background or did deep research to make the courtroom scenes so authentic. How does this influence the tension in the story?

The character's struggles with grief and justice felt very raw. I wonder how much of that was based on real cases or personal experiences.

The shifting viewpoints added layers to the mystery, but I was wondering if this was planned from the start or developed during the writing process.
