The city feels alive and full of secrets — I wonder how much of the setting was based on real places versus imagined worlds.

I loved the slow build, but it made me curious if that was intentional or just how the story evolved. Was the romance meant to be a quiet ache?

There’s a lot of suspense and despair, but also glimpses of redemption. Did the author intentionally craft it that way to reflect real-life struggles?
