The intense focus on the main character's point of view really immerses the reader in the suspense. I'm curious if this was a deliberate choice to heighten tension or if it evolved during writing.

The story had a strong start and finish, but the middle felt a bit slower for me. I wonder if that was to build suspense or if there's another reason behind it.
