The Walking Dead, Book Thirteen

The choices characters make feel so raw and consequential. I wonder what inspired the author to push them into these tough spots.

The pacing and stakes seemed higher here. Was that a conscious decision to ramp up the suspense or just how the story evolved?

It gave more depth but also slowed some parts down. I’m curious whether this was planned from the start or a response to reader feedback.
