Some parts hit close to home while others made me squirm. I wonder if the intention was to provoke that kind of visceral response or if it was just how the stories naturally unfolded.

This format allows for such diverse voices but also makes the book feel like a mosaic. I'm interested in whether this was planned from the start or evolved during writing.
