There were moments where themes of power and morality echoed current issues, which added depth to the fantasy and sci-fi elements. Did others pick up on this?

The mix of genres kept the stories fresh and unpredictable. I wonder if Asprin set out to combine these genres intentionally or if it evolved naturally.
