The characters in 'Going Wrong' feel so layered and real, especially as their moral boundaries blur. I wonder what inspired her to craft such complex personalities?

The story made me question how far someone might go when pushed to the edge. Was I the only one who found myself sympathizing with or judging the characters at different points?

The contrast between the mundane setting and the dark events adds a layer of tension. I'm curious whether Rendell intentionally used this backdrop to heighten the suspense.
