The isolated camp atmosphere adds so much tension and intrigue. I wonder if the author drew from real places or created it entirely from imagination.

The romance added depth but also made me uneasy given the dangerous situations. How did others feel about balancing these elements?

I'm curious whether the author intentionally played with pacing to build suspense or if it evolved naturally during writing.
