The city feels like a character itself, full of grit and complexity. I'm curious about how much of the setting was based on real places or personal experience.

The characters are deeply flawed and their actions often blur the lines between right and wrong. How did others interpret their motivations or sympathies?

The way the story shifts perspectives and timelines kept me engaged, but I wondered if this was planned from the start or developed during the writing process.
