The neighborhood's history and atmosphere add so much character to the story. I wonder if real events from the area influenced the plot or mood.

The detective's emotional baggage made the story more layered, but I was curious if that was a deliberate choice to humanize the character.

The pacing kept me hooked, yet I appreciated getting to know the characters beyond just solving the case. Was that a conscious decision during writing?
