Qué incluir en la notificación
Tu notificación debe identificar la obra protegida, señalar el material infractor en AskAuthor (preferiblemente con URLs), indicar tus datos de contacto, declarar de buena fe que el uso no está autorizado, confirmar bajo pena de perjurio que eres el titular o agente autorizado y llevar tu firma física o electrónica. Si faltan elementos, la revisión se retrasará.
Plazo de respuesta
Intentamos actuar sobre notificaciones válidas en un plazo de 24 horas.
Contranotificación
Si crees que tu contenido se retiró por error, puedes presentar una contranotificación. Debe identificar el material retirado, declarar bajo pena de perjurio que la retirada fue un error, indicar tus datos de contacto, aceptar la jurisdicción de un tribunal federal de EE. UU. y llevar tu firma. Si el reclamante original no presenta demanda judicial en un plazo de 10 a 14 días hábiles, restauraremos el contenido.
Infractores reincidentes
Las cuentas con varias reclamaciones DMCA válidas serán cerradas.

AskAuthor respects intellectual property rights. We respond to valid takedown notices under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512).

How to File a DMCA Takedown Notice
Your notice must include:
- Identification of the copyrighted work you claim is infringed
- Identification of the material on AskAuthor that you claim infringes your work, with enough detail to locate it (e.g., URL)
- Your contact information (name, address, phone, email)
- A statement that you have a good faith belief the use is not authorized
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf
- Your physical or electronic signature
How to Submit
Email dmca@askauthor.io with subject "DMCA Takedown Notice". AskAuthor currently handles DMCA notices manually by email and does not provide an in-app DMCA form.
Counter-Notification
If you believe your content was removed in error, you may file a counter-notification. Your counter-notification must include:
- Identification of the removed material
- A statement under penalty of perjury that the removal was a mistake
- Your contact information (name, address, phone, email)
- Consent to the jurisdiction of the applicable federal court
- Your physical or electronic signature
We will restore content within 10–14 business days unless the original complainant files a court action.
Repeat Infringer Policy
Consistent with 17 U.S.C. § 512(i)(1)(A), AskAuthor has adopted and reasonably implements a policy providing for the termination, in appropriate circumstances, of accounts of users who are repeat infringers. Users who receive multiple valid DMCA takedown notices may have their accounts suspended or permanently terminated, and any paid subscriptions forfeited, at AskAuthor’s sole discretion.
Misrepresentation Warning
Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material or activity is infringing, or that material or activity was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification, may be liable for damages, including costs and attorneys’ fees, incurred by the alleged infringer, the copyright owner, or AskAuthor, as a result of our reliance upon such misrepresentation. Submit notices and counter-notices only after carefully considering whether the use in question is actually infringing or non-infringing (e.g., fair use).
Response Time
We respond to valid notices within 24 hours.
