The way magic interacts with the characters' emotions and choices added depth, but I had to reread certain parts to fully grasp the rules. Did others find it intuitive or a bit tangled?

The city felt so alive and detailed, almost like a character itself. I'm curious whether the author drew from real places or crafted it entirely from imagination.
