The story took a while to really get going, but once it did, I couldn't put it down. Was that pacing intentional or just me?

The gradual unveiling added a lot of tension, but I wonder if revealing more early on would have changed the story's impact.

The remote, confined environment really amplified the sense of claustrophobia. Do you think the story would have felt different in a more open setting?
