The lively backdrop adds so much character — I wonder what drew the author to Rio and how much of the city’s spirit is woven into the story.

Her quirky, warm approach to solving mysteries made the story so engaging. I’m curious if others saw her as a reflection of the community or more of an outsider.

The lightheartedness made it an easy read, but I wondered if it slowed down or enhanced the suspense for others.
