The contrast between ordinary life and underlying darkness really drew me in. I'm curious whether this was a challenge or an intentional choice from the start.

The shift from friendly to suspicious happened so fast, which made me question how well I’d know the people next door. Am I the only one who found that unsettling?

I loved that the ending left some questions open, but I wonder if the author considered tying up loose ends more tightly or if this was a deliberate stylistic choice.
