Freud’s insights were groundbreaking, but I wonder what personal or cultural influences shaped his views on religion’s illusions and functions.

His argument challenges deeply held beliefs, which made me question how much of our faith is rooted in psychological needs versus spiritual conviction.

While logical, it also feels a bit harsh — does this perspective diminish the personal significance of faith for many people?
