The setting feels so personal and immersive — I wonder what drew the author to portray Taipei this way, and how much of it is drawn from real experiences or imagination.

I found myself sympathizing with the main character’s sense of disconnection, but it also made me uneasy at times. How did others interpret this emotional distance?
