The lore around shapeshifting is so rich and varied — I wonder what inspired the unique take in this universe and how much research went into it.

The characters often had to make tough choices that blurred right and wrong, which made them feel more complex. Did that resonate with others?

Every detail, from the magic system to the political landscape, seemed so well thought out. I'm curious if the author mapped it all out in advance or if it evolved during writing.
