The way trust eroded so quickly made me wonder if I’d be able to tell who was lying. Did the author intentionally keep the characters so untrustworthy?

The isolated setting added to the suspense, but I wonder if the story would have felt the same in a more urban environment. Was this a deliberate decision to heighten the danger?

The clues were subtle, but I didn’t see that ending coming. Did others pick up on the hints beforehand or was it a complete shock?
