Every detail about the magical system and setting seemed deliberate. I'm wondering if the author mapped out the lore extensively or if it grew organically during writing.

The pacing kept me hooked, but I wonder how much thought went into making sure the romantic moments enhanced the mystery rather than overshadowed it.
