It’s refreshing to see a story that encourages entrepreneurship from a young age. I wonder what motivated Andrew Clements to explore this theme in a middle-grade setting.

The interactions between the characters seemed authentic and made me reflect on my own childhood friendships. Was that intentional to show how kids negotiate loyalty and rivalry?

The story made me laugh but also think about the pressures kids face to prove themselves. I’d love to know how the tone was shaped during writing.
