The alien societies felt both believable and imaginative, but I'm curious whether the author drew from real-world cultures or created everything from scratch.

The detailed strategy scenes kept me on the edge of my seat, but I sometimes wished for a little more explanation. Was that intentional to keep the tension high or a missed opportunity?

The story moves quickly, but I wonder if the characters’ inner lives get enough space to breathe. Do others feel like they connected with the characters deeply?
