The Vodnik’s complex personality added a lot of tension. I’m curious whether this duality was inspired by existing folklore or something the author crafted from scratch.

The closeness felt so charged, but the monster’s secrets kept me guessing. Did the story’s tension work better because of this withholding, or did it drag for others?
