The story managed to keep the tension high while developing a compelling romantic subplot. I wonder how much of that was intentional from the start.

Their presence added so much atmosphere, but I'm curious whether the author drew from existing folklore or created something entirely new.

There were parts that felt a little slow compared to the high-stakes moments. Do others think this was a deliberate choice to build atmosphere?
