There were so many alliances and betrayals that I sometimes lost track. Was that intentional to reflect the complexity of the world?

The magic feels integral to the story but also very detailed. I wonder if it was planned from the beginning or developed as the story evolved.

The characters kept making difficult choices, and I was genuinely invested in whether they could overcome their differences. Did others feel the same?
