The illustrations really brought the characters to life, but I wonder if the storytelling was influenced by a desire to make it more accessible for kids or if there was another reason.

Each animal's quirks made them so memorable, but I’m curious whether the author based them on real animals or just created them from imagination.

It kept me engaged without feeling overly preachy. I wonder if that balance was intentional to appeal to both kids and adults reading along.
