The oppressive heat seems to amplify the characters' emotions and secrets. I wonder if the weather was a deliberate choice to add to the suspense.

The story kept me on edge, but I kept switching my suspicions. Was the author intentionally misleading or just really good at misdirection?

Switching viewpoints added depth but also complexity. I'm curious whether this was planned from the start or evolved during writing.
