Deathtrap

The play takes place mostly in one location, yet the suspense keeps rising. I wonder what inspired the decision to keep the story so tightly contained and how that affects the pacing.

The characters' actions are so morally ambiguous that I kept questioning who was the real villain. Did others find themselves sympathizing with or judging any particular character more?

The layered storytelling adds complexity and intrigue, but I'm curious whether Levin planned this from the beginning or if it evolved during writing.
