His vivid descriptions really immerse the reader in the noir setting. I wonder if he drew from real locations or crafted a fictional backdrop.

The plot thickened but I found some sections a bit slow. Do others think this was intentional to build tension or a pacing flaw?

The moral complexity added depth but also made me question what Ellroy was trying to say about justice and evil.
