Hiroo Onoda, a former Japanese intelligence officer, is known for his memoir No Surrender. He was one of the last Japanese soldiers to surrender in World War II, doing so in 1974. After the war, he moved to Brazil to raise cattle and later founded the Onoda Nature School in Japan.
