The tropical, tense atmosphere really comes alive in the book. I'm curious whether the setting was based on a real place or a fictional creation and how it shaped the plot.

The layers of the mystery kept me guessing, but I wonder if the author intentionally kept clues subtle so readers could piece it together too.
