I was rooting for the characters, but the shift from mistrust to affection felt sudden. Did others feel the same or was it just me?

The magic system felt both mysterious and integral to the plot. I'm curious whether this was planned from the start or evolved during writing.

The pacing kept me engaged, but I wondered how much thought went into pacing the intense battles versus the quieter, emotional scenes.
