Order of the Wicked

The characters feel both familiar and completely new. I wonder what inspired the choice to give them this twisted edge.

I was really hooked at first, but the story seemed to pause before picking up again. Was that intentional to build tension?

The length keeps it sharp and fast, but I’m curious if the author considered expanding certain parts or kept it intentionally concise.
