Fight to the Finish

The combat sequences felt so vivid and adrenaline-pumping. I wonder if the author drew from personal experience or extensive research to craft them.

The romance seemed to humanize the characters amid all the danger, but sometimes it felt like it complicated the plot. Did that enhance or detract from the tension for others?

The pacing kept me guessing, but I’m curious if the story was planned to weave all three together from the start or if it evolved during writing.
