Some of the demon origins and rules seemed to change without much explanation. Did others find this distracting or was it part of the mystery?

The stakes felt really high, but I wonder if the author wanted to comment on real-world conflicts or just create an adrenaline rush. Anyone have thoughts?

The protagonist’s growth felt intense, but I’m curious whether the focus on action overshadowed deeper emotional arcs for others.
