Contagion kept me guessing but also made me feel for the characters' struggles. I'm curious how much of that balance was planned versus discovered during writing.

The portrayal of the contagion felt very real and unsettling, but I wonder if it was based on real science or purely fictional. Would love to hear thoughts.
