The story had intense moments, but the middle chapters felt a bit slower. Was that a deliberate choice to build suspense or just the natural flow of the narrative?

The concept of a hidden organization with such influence is fascinating. I wonder what real-world inspirations, if any, influenced Ludlum’s depiction of this shadowy group.
