The setting feels so rich and lived-in—did the author develop a detailed lore bible or did it grow organically during writing?

I loved the mix of comedy and seriousness, but I wonder if others found the tone shifts seamless or jarring at times.

The multiple viewpoints added depth but also complexity. Was this a conscious choice from the start or something that evolved later?
