The symbolism surrounding the Commendatore feels layered and haunting. I wonder if Murakami had a specific myth or concept in mind when creating this figure.

Some parts felt almost dreamlike, making me question what was real. I'm curious if others found it confusing or beautifully ambiguous.

The novel seems to suggest that creating art is a way of understanding oneself, but I wonder if that's the only message Murakami was exploring.
