Hawk's complexity kept me hooked, but I wonder what inspired the choice to make him both Dangerous and vulnerable. Was this based on real experiences or purely fictional?

The dark elements added a layer of danger that made the emotional stakes feel even higher. Would the story have been as impactful without that brooding atmosphere?
